The Village Midwife Birth Center

The Village Midwife Birth Center believes that all people deserve a healthy pregnancy, birth and postpartum…regardless of ability to pay, sexual orientation, family design, citizen status, race or religion.

You are eligible for our services simply because you are pregnant. If we determine that we cannot provide the services that you need, we will refer you to the proper resources.

Our mission is to improve birth outcomes by offering midwifery care, waterbirth, VBAC, placenta encapsulation, doula services, childbirth education, postpartum care, peer groups and breastfeeding support that is easily accessible and free from judgment.

We provide trauma informed care and have extensive experience with survivors of sexual assault, as well as, trauma related to abortion, miscarriage, loss, birth assault and childhood experiences.

We also have in depth experience serving the LGBTQ and alternative lifestyle community with sensitive and appropriate care including fertility, IUI procedures and conception counseling.

We firmly believe in bodily autonomy, informed consent, evidence-based care and family involvement.

We offer home, birth center, and hospital birthing options.

We serve all of SE Virginia, including: Hampton, Newport News, Phoebus, Fort Monroe, Fort Eustis, Langley AFB, York County, James City County, Suffolk, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach.
